The single piece of high quality aluminum is joined by a pair of discreet rivets on the inner edge of the rim. These rivets provide excellent strength and can withstand the rigors of normal use, but these insulating hoops were not designed for throwing/juggling. Repeated falls from heights onto hard surfaces can weaken the joint.
