Borrow an item, such as a signed bill, ring, or other personal item. Without the audience seeing (back turned), magically introduce the item into the treasure box. Deliver the chest to the public and enjoy the show: everyone can see the object through the transparent chest, but no one will be able to take it back.
After everyone has given up, take the chest back and magically extract the item.
